The dark green route of the Sentieri Deserta Langarum Casavabene alongside Casavabene , a route of approximately 16 km through forests and meadows, alongside streams and with beautiful views. By linking this route with other routes in the network, you can create beautiful walks of varying lengths, starting from around 5 km. You can also start your walk at the Pietra dell'Appuntamento nei Boschi, about a 10-minute drive from Casavabene, where all six routes in the network start. We have already explored the routes and put them on Komoot for you.

Among other things, the region is known for the hazelnut, the "Tonda Gentile delle Langhe." From this, the most delicious products are made such as cakes, pastas, truffles and ice cream.
Alba has been named a Creative City of Gastronomy by UNESCO. Alba is best known for its truffles and the international truffle festival, but it's also a beautiful city full of history.
Barolo, the village of the world-famous Barolo wine and one of I borghi più belli d’Italia. It's great for strolling through the streets, visiting the wine museum or the corkscrew museum.
Lots of people know Bra because of the slow-food movement and the bi-annual international cheese festival. But, it's also worth visiting Bra for its many churches and palaces from the 17th and 18th centuries.
Closer to Casavabene you can also find all kinds of goodies, such as in Dogliani, the homeland of the Dolcetto wine. And even closer in Murazzano, the village of the Tuma di Murazzano cheese.
On the first Saturday of August, there's the Passeggiando di Sera con il Murazzano, a walk through the village with stalls offering food and wine from the region.

On the Murazzano website, you will find a number of beautiful routes of varying lengths through the village's surroundings. Our personal favorites are Rea Santa Margherita, which ends with a beautiful view of Murazzano, and Cadazzo Pareta, which runs towards Marsaglia.

If you fancy a walk, run, or trail run, you can step right onto the green route of the sentieri Deserta Langarum directly from Casavabene. This route can be linked to the other routes of Deserta Langarum and various long distance routes.
The Deserta Langarum routes are also great for cycling with a (electric) mountain bike. A little further away is the BarToBar (Barbaresco to Barolo) a route that can be done both with the MTB and hiking.
If you like to be on a road bike then Casavabene is the right place. The Alte Langhe, with its beautiful hills and quiet roads, are a true cycling paradise. Do you like a challenge? Then the route Salite dei Campioni (120km, 2,500 meters of climbing) is for you.
Snow lovers drive in less than an hour to Mondolè Ski, a beautiful and authentic ski resort where, by the way, there is also great hiking!
Just an hour's drive from Casavabene, you can go on amazing hikes in the mountains, like here along the waterfalls in the Valle Pesio e Tanaro in the Parco Naturale Marguareis.

... doing nothing at all. Dream away in the hammock or curl up with a book in a nice spot in the garden of Casavabene. And if it gets too hot, take a dip in the pool.
... beach, for example in Cervo, Noli, Finale Ligure or Celle Ligure, all "Borghi piu belli d´Italia". Stroll through these beautiful places, drink an aperitivo on the promenade and take a dip in the blue sea.
... filled with romance. Follow (part of) the Strada Romantica delle Langhe and enjoy beautiful views and picturesque villages.
... city trip. Grab a drink on a terrace, go shopping, visit a museum or enjoy beautiful buildings, squares and streets. You can do that in Turin or Genoa, about 1.5 hours away by car.
